Hotel itself OK, comfortable enough but needs refurb: dining room especially tired with worn out/aged chairs. But service was incredibly slow. Took forever to order coffees in lounge. About 40 mins later they arrived tepid at best despite the waitress saying be careful as they are hot! The manager was very sarcastic when he delivered replacements suggesting we “ask for scalding hot if you want it hot!!!” Food is quite nice, though I didn’t expect my Squid Ink Prawn Pasta to be the colour of tomato soup and not black! Tasted nice though! However we walked out of breakfast service on last morning having waited over 45 minutes for coffee (which we asked for twice) and not even placing breakfast order. Never received the coffee. Odd because everyone had to book a time for breakfast too, so it’s not like they were inundated with diners by surprise! When we checked out and asked for breakfast refund another couple who had experienced the same also complained, asked for breakfast refund and in fact cancelled their 2nd nights stay. Such a shame as could be a terrific hotel. Felt the staff were way over worked and very demoralised. It was very disappointing especially as it was for my 60th birthday treat. I wouldn’t stay at a MacDonalds again.
