This is the location where you don't have to go anywhere if you don't want to! Yet if you do, there are so many activities in the area - cool creeks, Pilates at Bellingen Pilates, nearby beaches, eclectic shops, golf , horse-riding. No guest has ever wished they left earlier - in fact quite the opposite.
On site there are amazing mountain views and space to wander, chill or just relax. For the chefs there is an outdoor Pizza Oven; for some entertainment there is Table Tennis & a Trampoline, for cosy winter nights there is a Pot belly and a Jetmaster fireplace; and in summer air con and fans in every room are at your disposal.
Location - Blue Gum Retreat is positioned in pastureland with sweeping, stunning and close up 180 degree views of Dorrigo National Park. It is within walking distance to Never Never Creek and the stunning fig tree water hole where you can swim, fish or look for platypus. Blue Gum Retreat is a perfect getaway and you will not want to leave. Sit on the verandah or in the garden, bring friends, a book and a glass of wine and enjoy the stunning view of the mountains whilst the kids play on the trampoline, or table tennis; or simply doze whilst the abundant wildlife chirp away. This beautiful and spacious rosewood family home is in a tranquil setting, situated only 300m from Gleniffer Hall and Church and set back 150m from the road.
Activities - Enjoy bathing in the refreshing Never Never Creek - just a short stroll or bike ride away or use the house as a base for trips to local attractions.Thirty minutes to renowned Dorrigo Rainforest, International Bonville golf course and the pristine beaches of Sawtell and Coffs Harbour. Enjoy Bellingen's many eclectic cafes and restaurants or visit Bellingen markets with some 250 stalls, every 3rd Saturday of the month, and the Growers' markets - twice a month. Enjoy a Reformer Pilates session at Bellingen Pilates or organise Mat Pilates on site (subject to availability). Or just stay put and chill.
The house - Cool limestone floors throughout internally with sandstone slabs on the verandah, Stylish bathroom and ensuite with luxuries such as heated floors and heated towel rails. Open cathedral roof ceilings and large sliding doors & windows offering cool breezes in summer. Air conditioning and effective ceiling fans in every room; a huge Jetmaster open fireplace, Pot belly plus cosy faux fur rugs for cosy winter evenings . Fully and generously equipped kitchen with ample equipment such as a blender, a slow cooker, a fruit juicer, a bamix, coffee machines, sandwich toaster, top quality pans, pizza and baking trays. Savour the fruit from the Citrus trees in July/Aug; the Mulberry tree in October and the avocado tree from March to May plus an ample herb garden for your cooking. Beautiful jacaranda in October/November.
Configuration - Blue Gum Retreat is a single level home with 4 bedrooms with the number of bedrooms available according to the number of guests. In summary there are 3 kings (2 of which are split king) and 1 queen. The master bedroom, 'Mountain View One' at the far end of the home is large with a king sized bed plus a sofa bed and a walk in robe and air conditioning. 'Mountain View Two' and 'Mountain View Three' have a king bed that can be split into 2 long singles and a built in wardrobe; bedroom 4 has a queen bed and a built in wardrobe. All bedrooms have air conditioning. There are 2 bathrooms - the ensuite to the king room plus a separate bathroom with a shower and a bath. Both bathrooms have heated floors and heated towel rails. There is also a laundry with a washing machine & dryer, tub, 2nd tall fridge and 2nd tall freezer, ironing board and iron. Beautiful Linen/Towels are included though please bring your own beach towel.
The dining area seats 8 people at the table with a cosy pot belly to keep you warm in winter. Across from the dining table is a second living area with a 3 seater sofa. The living room has a large corner leather lounge, a leather armchair and leather ottoman and huge Jetmaster open fire. Around the corner from the main living room is a reading area with a three seater balinese sofa and built in bookcase. In the bookcase are books for you to enjoy during your visit. The kitchen has plenty of storage including a walk in pantry.
Heating and cooling - In winter, a large Jetmaster fireplace and a Pot belly heat the living areas, along with good oil heaters in the bedrooms. In summer, very efficient ceiling fans in all rooms cool the house along with air conditioning in all bedrooms and living areas. In addition cross flow ventilation is provided by many sliding doors and windows, allowing cool breezes to pass through in summer.
Parking - there is both undercover parking for 1 car and parking for 4 cars on the driveway near the house
Minimum stay - there is a minimum 2 night stay for all bookings Thursday - Sunday which changes to 3 nights on long weekends, 4 nights over Easter and 3-7 nights over peak holiday periods. One night stays may be available during the week Mon - Thursday subject to availability (exc school holidays). Bookings for 2 people only do not have access to the other 3 bedrooms nor the main bathroom and are only available Mon - Thursday or at request for a weekend.
Pets - Small dog are allowed, however untrained puppies under 6 months are not allowed. A surcharge of $100 applies per dog per stay. Please do not allow wet or dirty dogs in or through the house. No dogs on the furniture or in the bedrooms. Please bring your own dog bed. The property is not fenced for a dog and is surrounded by farmland, farm animals and cars on the road - so dogs must be closely supervised at all times. Please remove dog waste from the lawn
Check in/check out - Check in at 3pm, check out at 10am.
Note there is an external security camera on site covering the driveway entrances only which will be on during your stay .
