Unpretentious and friendly.

This was an inexpensive hotel close to a buzzing shopping street and lots of places to eat. It is a bit dingy and grungy inside but that doesn't faze me - what I really objected to was the smell of cigarette smoke which hit me like a punch in the face as soon as I entered the room. I had requested a non-smoking room, so they either ignored my request this was the best they could do. I had to keep the window open, the fan blowing, and several scented candles burning to make it bearable. Other than the smell the room was comfortable and the continental breakfast delivered to the room, although simple, was a nice touch.
