Our family of 6 stayed for 8 night's. Cannot fault this place was absolutely amaziing. Service can not fault, our rooms were basic but so homely. Id only suggest the breakfast buffet needs a little more as it was too basic but all in all we would highly recommend to anyone to book here

I had breakfast included which was a tropical breakfast this was very convenient and gave me a good start to the day.I really enjoyed the Island night the meal was great and the dancers were brilliant. Snorkelling out the front was just amazing really enjoyed. I felt safe at the resort which is always a plus when your travelling alone.

The breakfast was poor, no hot food and 28$ for cereal and toast canned fruit and pastries that we barely saw as they went first. I would expect Hot breakfast for that price.

We loved our stay at The Rarotongan and were returning after staying there 28 years ago on our honeymoon. We were pleased to find the resort still much the same and staff still welcoming, friendly and helpful. The new deck at the waters edge and the declaration of a marine reserve in the Lagoon are great initiatives. Fish feeding off the deck is a sight to behold and the lagoon teaming with sea life. We travelled everywhere on the circle island bus that pulls up at reception 30mins past the hour in the clockwise direction and 10 past the hour (?) in the anticlockwise direction. Buy a 10 trip pass for $30 and get on and off where you like, just hail the bus and it’ll pull up anywhere! On the downside, we were in a room that interconnected with another and unfortunately the interconnecting part was not well insulated which meant we could hear our neighbours frequent fights. We also found the breakfast buffet disappointing and a bit pricey for what it was so we skipped breakfast most days but the rest of the food and the cocktails were great. It got very windy on our last couple of days which made the beach at The Rarotongan a bit unpleasant but a bus trip to Blackrock on the other side of the island means a sheltered beach can still be found. There’s also plenty of walks and cycling as cold or windy weather options. Rarotonga is a great place to visit and the Rarotongan a great place to stay as a base

One of the best locations on the island, west facing, amazing sunsets at the restaurant and bar, and right on the best lagoon on the island. Bar staff were super nice and accomodating! The food was nice. Resort is great for kids. The deluxe room was clean and nice location onto the beach. The resort in general is pretty rough around the edges, if it had a good renovation and was generally modernised to the level of some of the other resorts on Muri beach it would be the best on the island. In particular the rooms but more so entire pool and kids area which are really dated and run down. The reception staff were a little rude and not particularly helpful when anything out of the normal happened such as a delayed flight. This aside we had a lovely time and that lagoon…. Wow

Kia Orana, Thank you for your review. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the beachfront location of the resort. The resort enjoys a prime location directly on Aroa Lagoonarium Marine Sanctuary with beautiful white sand beaches, the island’s best all tide snorkeling with abundant tropical fish and occasional turtles and eagle rays as well as stunning sunsets. Guests can explore the marine sanctuary with complimentary kayaks, paddle boards, snorkels & masks, etc. The latest 360-degree virtual tours are available online as well as photographs, room layout maps, and detailed descriptions to assist guests to identify the best accommodation option for their holiday. There are several higher category accommodation options which may have been preferable, and which can be viewed during our daily 2pm site inspection tour (subject to room categories being available). Alternatively, our Reservations team would be delighted to discuss your requirements with you and help you identify the best room category for your needs. The Reservations team can be contacted on email, freephone, or Live Chat. Kind Regards, Bob Taylor General Manager

The whole property is in need of an upgrade. Decor and furnishings are very tired. The breakfast provided is okay but they do run out of food regularly. Menu for lunch/dinner has been reduced considerably compared with what is online. Shuttle bus is very expensive at $30 pp each way. Taxi much cheaper. No entertainment or shows provided to entertain guests. Resort is understaffed at the bar and reception. Long wait to check in and check out.

Kia Orana, thank you for your feedback. We do have a Duty Manager available between 7am and 9pm daily who would have been delighted to address your concerns. As we are in the process of re-opening after 14 months of border closures, new menus are being developed as we can access supplies. The shuttle busy is a service provided by a third party not the resort but we will pass on your feedback to them. There are also taxis and rental cars available as well as the local bus. We do have live entertainment most nights but many of the attractions around the island are only slowly getting restarted as it has only been a few weeks since the borders reopened with less than 10% of the flights that we previously had so not every venue if fully open around the island. We are just in the process of rolling out the ability to check in online that should make more efficient the check in process. If you have any more specific feedback, please feel free to contact us directly.
