I paid extra for the room with a view on this trip since I'd stayed at other APA's and I figured why not since it would overlook the lake and zoo area near the hotel. As that was half the reason I picked this location compared to the other APA's in the region it was beyond disappointing to know I paid extra to have an extra dirty room. The window and curtains were extremely dusty/dirty, it was clear that there were surfaces that hadn't been sanitized between guests, the bed was at least clean, but the worst was the shower curtain covered with red and black bacteria/mold all over it. Considering how extensive it was this was not something that would appear overnight and makes one question how clean anything is even with the required "cleanings" every three days. This hotel is clearly a transit location with people crashing there on the way to/from the airport and has few amenities. The AC is not adjustable by room and is currently set to heat for the season. Normally this isn't an issue but the interior of the hotel is open air so temperatures get interesting. Blankets and fans can be rented at this "hotel". Service was fine, though communications did occasionally get lost in translation.

This is the 2nd hotel we’ve stayed at in the APA Hotel chain. (There are so many that you have to be careful you’re search for the right one when you look for your hotel.) This location is minutes from a station on Osaka’s superb subway and train network. The rooms are small but perfectly laid out so everything is very convenient. A limitation to think about in summer is that the rooms are not air conditioned. TV is APA hotels have only one English language channel, BBC News. In this hotel the channel merged English with Japanese translation voiceover. But we didn’t come to Japan to watch TV.

Our stay was okay however, the rooms are small. There was barely any room for our bags. I didn’t bring luggage but that would not have fit in the room. I wish there was a hairdryer in the bathroom. The walls are a little thin and you can hear people talk loudly from other rooms or any loud banging. It was conveniently located right next to Ueno station which got us straight to Narita airport, which was the airport we headed to. It’s also right next to the zoo which was nice.

the rooms are simply too small, I booked a single, but had a huge bed, had I a smaller bed, there would have been a bit more room. the breakfast as was abysmal except for the coffee. The lobby as practically non existent, and totally filled up by luggage.

Great location with easy access to trains and subway. A large number of eateries and bars nearby. Ueno park next door, booked a room with park view. As always clean comfortable but compact room that makes APA a dependable stay.
