Disliked: Staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort
We only stopped at this hotel due to weather conditions on I40. Read some uncomplimentary reviews but we had no choice. I booked as I walked into the lobby on Hotels.com. Front desk lady was irritated and not welcoming at all. She took my I/d and my card, I asked for a ground floor as my husbands knees are bad. She huffed and asked one or two beds. Told her preferably one king. She asked one or two keys, told her 2. She tossed my I/d back at me then my card and finally the guest invoice to sign in. I did not see anywhere on there asking if we had pets and she did not ask. She gave me the key packet and said room number. I asked if the room was closer to the front entrance or the back. She barked RIGHT HERE!!! Went out to get a few bags and my husband brought our well behaved double doodle in. She says YOU DIDNT TELL ME YOU HAD A PET. YOU NEED TO PAY A FEE AND I NEED TO PUT YOU IN A PET FRIENDLY ROOM. Ok, so told her you didn’t ask, there’s nothing on the invoice and how much is it? She said $20. Gave her a $20 bill and she asked for my room key, looked at her computer screen then tossed the key packet back at me not changing the room. She did not change the invoice showing I paid the additional fee she huffed, turned and walked away. Get to the room, clean enough but it’s 2 queens and only one key card. Further as we inspected the room, the smoke alarm was not hanging in the middle of the ceiling, just the holder with wires hanging down. Not a great Days Inn.
