Want to do your bit to offset the carbon emissions caused by your travel? Well we’re sorry if you’ve been looking for our Climatewise carbon emissions calculator….your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you – we’ve taken it down temporarily.

But don’t worry, the environment is still at the top of our priority list….and that’s why we’re improving our calculator. We’re making it bigger and better than ever before and we’ll have it back in no time.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but remember, if you’ve booked your travel with us, you can come back later (even after you’ve taken your trip) and offset the carbon emissions caused by that very trip.

And while we’re experts when it comes to the impact of travel on the environment, we’re also pretty switched on when it comes to the environment in general. You can reduce your carbon footprint in many other ways too, not just offsetting your flights. Check out some tips below, many of which we’re implemented in our own office.

• Install water-saving systems like dual-flush toilets or energy efficient-shower heads
• Install energy-efficient lighting at home and encourage your work to do the same. Go the extra mile and install movement sensors to any lights you need to have on regularly
• Ensure your electrical appliances are turned off not only on the unit switch but also at the power point on the wall – this will save lots of energy. So remember, turn your computer off at night, don’t just leave it in sleep mode
• Ensure all of your taps, pipes, hoses and tanks are water tight and replace any that have leaks
• Take public transport or walk wherever possible, particularly for short trips like going to work
• Integrate more walking or cycling into your lifestyle – think about physical activity when you plan days out
• Car pool to work with your friends if you must take a car
• Next time you need to buy a new car (if you must!) consider a low consumption option, such as a hybrid car.
