No matter what you are looking for… you will find it in New York.
This is one of the best cities in the world! Manhattan is just one of the 5 (though the most exciting) boroughs which make up New York – also including Queens, Staten Island, Brooklyn and The Bronx. The city attracts people from all over the globe who come for the economic opportunity, culture, and fast-paced cosmopolitan lifestyle.
By the end of my 3 weeks in New York I felt like a local without the accent! It takes a while to get your bearings; the grid is quite difficult to understand at first. But if you hop on the double-decker red bus, this will take you all around Manhattan (even Brooklyn if you’re lucky) and you can get off anywhere and have a wonder. This is definitely a city that you can get lost in – there are so many options to get home. Buses, subway, the famous yellow cabs or you can walk! Every part of Manhattan is so different – they are like little villages, each with a culture of its own! The bright lights of Times Square, boutique style shopping of SoHo, the creative artists of the East Village, the gospels in Harlem, the tranquillity of Central Park… each so unique. Not to mention, the odd celebrity out and about – always carry a camera become a papparazi, you never know who you might bump into! The shopping is out of this world – one of the best fashion capitals. I came back with an extra suitcase and so many I LOVE NY t-shirts, which spells tourist in the city! This is definitely the city that never sleeps. You get up at any hour and find people roaming the street - either having a late dinner, drinks at a fancy bar, or out for a night of dancing! New York is one of the safest cities despite its reputation – NYPD is on the lookout 24/7… trust me you hear the sirens all night long! What is not to love about this city? The opportunities are endless, you can do so much – New York has a place in my heart… It is on my to-do list, I will be back again! |
