We decided to spend our honeymoon
in the Maldives - located in the Indian Ocean, south west of Sri Lanka and consisting
of nearly 1200 islands, 87 of them being resort islands!
We stayed at Club Med Kani. All I can say is - welcome to paradise!
The island is small, but
so beautiful. The crystal clear water, the palm trees, the fine white sand surrounding
the island.
We stayed in an Overwater bungalow - (there are 46 overwater bungalows) The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, and of course the view was amazing. You can hear the water splashing on to the docks during the night, and you can see an array of fish swimming below. Oh and we had 2 resident crabs sitting on the steps that led from our balcony to the water . |

| To get from
our bungalow to the main resort area, it took at the most about 5 to 6 minutes,
and I couldn't complain because the surroundings during the walk were amazing.
They serviced the rooms twice daily, which was a nice surprise. They also
have Garden rooms, and Beachfront rooms on the island. The Beachfront rooms
are spacious, the Garden rooms are a bit smaller in size, but nevertheless
still very good. |

Of course you can just
opt to do absolutely nothing, and just soak up the sun and enjoy the view.

The food
at Club Med Kani is excellent! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at the
main restaurant - varied buffets. Every day is different and the variety and
quality of food is excellent. You will not be disappointed! They also have
late breakfast available, served at their second restaurant, where you can
also pre-book your dinner - a more romantic setting with an a La Carte menu. |

| Singapore Airlines fly to Male from Sydney 4 times a week, from Perth 5 times a week and you can take domestic connections from other cities in Australia. I stayed at the Maldives for just over a week and I wish I could have stayed longer. It is the ideal tropical holiday destination! |
