Fiji

By Jack Hudson

Just a couple of weeks ago, I visited Fiji for the first time. I was only there for a week, but spent each night in a different hotel, so I got a good idea of the different properties on offer. There is somewhere for everyone in Fiji, from families to couples and budget backpackers.

Backpackers need look no further than Beachcomber island. A fairly small island, Beachcomber includes 3 meals a day and has various snorkeling and diving options as well as the usual beach volleyball and other activities.

Close by is Treasure Island, which is a tranquil Island perfect for relaxation and well suited to couples and families (great child minding facilities).

The Sheraton have 3 resorts with plenty to offer everyone. There are great facilities throughout including tennis courts and an 18 hole golf course. Guests are able to use the facilities at all 3 resorts, which are linked by a free shuttle.

My personal favourite was the Sonaisali Island Resort. This would be great for couples and offers a good degree of luxury and comfort. The staff are extremely friendly and ensure that everyone's stay is a good one. The food was a particular highlight, as was the after dinner Fijian show.

I would recommend Fiji to anyone, and will surely one day return.
