Sushi or Buffalo Wings – the important questions before booking your next ski trip.
After a patchy 2004/05 season Whistler had temporally lost its title as the snowfall capital of North America, so in the 2006 season, I like many other skiers and boarders had to decide between the new Powder Capital of the world Niseko or give and old favourite one more chance.
For me about two resorts represent completely different experiences, we now all know that the snow doesn't stop in Japan and you will get the deepest driest powder anywhere, but for anyone who has been there, Whistler on a perfect day under 40cm of fresh snow - it can be the stuff of dreams. Whistler is huge, there are two mountains right next to each other, both with their own charm. Whistler with it’s back bowls and tree skiing and Blackcomb with it perfectly cut fall line super trails that induce leg burn to even the fittest skier or boarder. There are so many runs you'll need a season to get to all, some of the steepest runs in north America next to some of the longest easiest beginner runs around, the old cliché is true hear it really does have something for everyone.
