Sea World, San Diego
By Theo Antoniadis
Sea World, San Diego
is another theme park in California that is a must for the animal lover. Only
two hours south of Los Angeles, San Diego boasts to be 'the place where the sailors
meet', with surrounding training grounds and shelters.
Sea World offers
many live performing shows all day long. Opening its doors from 9am daily and
closing at around 6pm. Bring your hat and sunscreen along, as well as a good waterproof
jacket or raincoat - be rest assured getting soaked from head to toe is a pre
requisite with the Shamu, Killer Whale Show. Shamu is the highlight of the park,
come dine alongside him and his friends and make face to face contact whilst you
dine in the poolside restaurant for lunch.
See the white Balego whales,
the walruses and the polar bears in the 'Arctic Area' of the park. Also experience
a simulated helicopter ride/ adventure over Antarctica with near misses and close
contact with its surrounds.
Another highlight of this park is watching
the amazing Flying Dolphin show, which includes the only performing pilot whales
in the world as well as Dolly the highest flying dolphin. See the live penguins
whilst getting the opportunity to hold and pat April the three month old Macaroni
penguin. All in all this theme park was quite an experience with nature so close.
It was amazing to see how intelligent these mammals truly are.
