The airlines history can be traced back to December 7th, 1950 when Aerolíneas Argentinas was created as a State company by National Executive Power decree No. 26099. On November 21st, 1990 a consortium headed by Iberia takes charge of the company, and changes its company name to Aerolíneas Argentinas SA.
