Lombok:
The surf is best from May to October but Lombok has surf all year round, with many different breaks around the island.
Desert Point - a long barreling left hander. On its day is rated as one of the world's best lefts.
Lombok south coast - excellent left and right breaks, depending on conditions.
Sumbawa:
Like Lombok, Sumbawa receives good swell all year round, but it is generally best between June and August. The surf is around the south and west side of the island.
Scar Reef - an intense left with multiple backdoor sections.
Yo-Yo's - two ultra consistent rights that virtually guarantee waves even if the swell is small.
Super Suck - pick the tide and time and you've got one of the cleanest left hand barrels on the coast.
Periscopes – A right hander off the beach at Lakey peak. It can offer a tight barrel over a relatively safe reef platform.
Lakey Peak – A left and right hander that offers an intense ride. Can hold any size swell and is hollowest at mid-tide.
The best known break on Lombok is Desert Point but there are also many other waves on the island. This is what Bali was like 5 years ago, still relatively untouched by tourism and uncrowded. There are nine major areas for surfing around Lombok.
