A vibrant, fun, energetic, modern living city!
Forget the shamrocks, the leprechauns and all those tired images of Ireland and welcome to the Dublin of 2007!
Having lived there most of my life and having visited at least 22 times out of the last 18 years I have been in Australia, I have witnessed the transformation of Dublin from a great city to an extraordinary city.
Dublin is now one of Europe’s most exciting capitals and offers all you could want from a city holiday and more. Steeped in history and culture with an abundance of cafes, restaurants and pubs you will never be bored. If shopping, theatre, music and great conversation is also on your list then include Dublin in your trip to Europe this year.
Some of the must sees of Dublin are: -Trinity College – dates back to 1592 and is home to ‘The Book of Kells’. -Phoenix Park – one of the largest enclosed city parks and larger than both Central Park in New York and Hyde Park in London, located just 3km from the city and home to Dublin Zoo.
QANTAS Economy Class Service I have to say their service is great and the seats are comfortable. Every aircraft I flew on had the latest ‘video on demand’ entertainment system which means you can watch movies when you want to, pause, fast forward and rewind to your heart’s content. On a long journey that makes a massive difference especially if you are travelling with children. Tip – If you want to increase the chances of having a vacant seat beside you, choose the aisle in the centre 4 seats. Tip – You will need at least 3 hours to transfer in London Heathrow due to the new EU hand baggage regulations. Check the website of the airline you are flying with so you can prepare yourself in advance. |
