The food was good and the staff in the breakfast area were friendly. However, the counter staff was not friendly. When we asked for a cleaner and quieter room away from the aircon compressors, they were saying that we occupied the room already (we went upstairs to the room and came down), that they never had complaints about that room and they could offer earplugs as a solution. Even the checkout was a mixture between bored and grumpy. Doesn’t deserve the term “holiday” in “holiday inn”.

Buffet breakfast was very ordinary. Scrambled eggs only, with sausages only, no bacon, no tomato’s or other vegetables, limited cereal and toast. McDonalds next door.

The staff were lovely so I will give that as a compliment. My complaints were as follows: 1. In my room there was a large red stain in the carpet bedside. I don't know what it was, be it blood or red wine, but really it should have been cleaned up prior to my stay. I photographed it and showed staff, to their credit they were apologetic and offered to move my room. 2. I stayed in October 2023. At around 530am I I heard protesting (loudspeaker/drumming/whistles and air horns) directly outside the front door. This is a protest led by Holiday Inn staff regarding their pay. I have nothing against them protesting however Google indicates they have been protesting since July 2023. I was several floors up with earplugs in and still heard it. 3. I am someone who can look after themselves and have travelled extensively overseas. The area around the Inn is sketchy. As in, either eat onsite or at McDonalds/Thai Restaurant over the road. Plenty of local drug affected/mental health issues people in street. There was a man out of it in the front garden who was waving around a small wooden picket when I came back from dinner. I was traveling alone on this occasion, I wouldn't take my wife and son there. In comparison, I've taken them to Guatamala and Mexico previously. 4. Shuttle Bus. The pick up area wasn't clear at LAX. I couldn't find details on the website. I tried calling the Hotel for help...no answer. The driver on way back was moody to several other guests for no reason.
