We had reservations at the roof top bar and were told not to rush after our show got out that our table would be held. We got there at 10:10pm (10:00pm reservation) and waited 10 minutes (after being seated at the bar despite our table reservation) for anyone to acknowledge us. We ordered a drink and were told the kitchen was closed when we tried to order food and immediately the server gave us our check. We were told it was last call and we could not order anything else. I was confused as to why a restaurant would take 10:00pm reservations but tell the customer after 20 mnutes they could not order any more drinks or food. After we were told this, a large party came in and was served. It seemed the bartender had no interest in helping us after we showed him our VIP drink vouchers. We even offered to pay for our 1st drink, because we were unaware that the "la fete" was not a house cocktail and then use our drink coupon on another drink. As we actually had a reservation, we had planned to order late night food and more than one drink and were not just walking in to get our free drink and leave.

Our room was comfy and big enough for us to avoid tripping over one another. There are two subway stations nearby. Times Square and Bryant Park are both steps away. It was very cold when we were there, so we were glad to have two bars, a restaurant, and a coffee shop in the building. Most notable, however, was the staff. Everyone was helpful, responsive and friendly. We’ll definitely be back.
