Dated and not very well maintained...

Pros: Friendly staff. Good mattress, at least the double bed one...
Cons: Bath rooms need an upgrade, very dated and worn down. Main outlets partly faulty or broken - can get dangerous... Not working light bulbs. Wood worms!
Location: Easy to reach Avarua centre. Bus stop in front. Shops in walking distance. Can be sometimes noisy when planes start, esp. at night...
It's a petty - what their father build had a vision, but now the next generation seems just to try to keep it as it was. 1967 is a long time ago and it not enough to use a bit of paint to keep the stuff together. I guess without investing some money this place will be run down soon and no one will book accommodation. There is a lot of competition and a new resort just gets build down the road. We were in the "newer" building on the second floor, which was already better than the rest. Still ants infested and the kitchen cupboard eaten up by wood worms. But otherwise clean - every day new linen and towels.

Old but clean motel with friendly staff

Old but clean. Friendly staff. Beach is not good for swimming. Cheep. This will give you option to rent a car. We did. Will go back to KiiKii motel.

Don't judge the pool by photos!

We arrived tired & jaded off a Jetstar flight to apparently bleak 3am motel, as our week went on the place became a favourite we want to return to, a brilliant escape haunt: Sam &co organised timely transport, we were greeted at arrival & depature at airport with floral Lei & icy cold water & big hugs after :0) It won't be a good fit if you are after a McDonalds plastic style hotel service because these big & warm hearted folks are genuinely authentic; they love children & are empathic people making your experience better everyday: freshly painted room, crystal clear pool & great boogie boarding off real coral beach ! Resort & shop nearby if you need western food/drink service, short walk to town for market/scooter hire: KiiKii is a great island base :0)
