Great budget option. Highly recommended.
This hotel was half the price of others in the area, and unlike the others had restaurants available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a convenience store next door selling quality pre-made sandwiches and salads to take for a healthier option as lunch to the zoo and safari park, and another restaurant Crust Kitchen for more options.
There was a bus stop directly out the front, or it is about $10 cab or Uber to most of the well known attractions in the area. Please note San Diego has a price fix on cab fares, so in busy times a cab is cheaper than an Uber and can be pre-booked with a fixed price.
Rooms were comfy and clean. Despite the busy roads, if you keep the windows closed you do not hear the noise. I slept with the windows open at night and noise was still minimal.
The only downfall of the whole experience was a slight musty smell, but I have found most hotels in the area are similar due to the long period of low occupancy for the past two years due to Covid and the climate of the area.
Great pool and jacuzzi, we went during Spring Break and despite the hotel being fully booked the facilities were not crowded.
A load of washing costs $5 for wash and dry and is ready in around a hour.

A complete renovation of Kings Inn San Diego was completed in October 2020. Smoking is allowed in designated areas at this Art Deco San Diego hotel.
